The eufy Pet Camera D605 is a mid-range pet camera that combines 2K video, AI pet detection, and a built-in treat dispenser — all without requiring a monthly subscription. At $139, it sits between budget cameras like the Petcube Cam 2 and premium options like the Furbo 360. The standout selling point: every smart feature works out of the box with no ongoing fees.

Design & Setup

The D605 has a vertical tower design with the camera up top and the treat hopper in the middle. It’s functional but not subtle — think “mini appliance” rather than “sleek gadget.” The white plastic housing doesn’t blend into most decor easily.

Setup takes about 10 minutes through the eufy app. Connect to wi-fi, insert a microSD card for local storage, load treats into the hopper, and you’re streaming. No account subscriptions or cloud plans to configure.

Video Quality

At 2K resolution, the D605 produces noticeably sharper video than 1080p competitors. You can zoom in on your pet’s face and still see clear detail. Night vision switches on automatically and performs well — you can clearly identify your pet’s position and activity even in a dark room.

The fixed camera angle is the tradeoff. There’s no pan, tilt, or rotation. The 160° wide-angle lens covers a good area, but if your pet moves to another part of the room, you can’t follow them. Placement becomes critical — aim for a spot that overlooks your pet’s favorite area.

AI Pet Detection

The onboard AI distinguishes between your pet moving, a person walking by, and ambient motion (curtains, shadows). This means you get relevant notifications rather than constant false alerts. Detection is processed locally on the device — no footage leaves your home.
