At $699, it better be life-changing. After 6 weeks with two cats, here’s our take.

What We Loved

You genuinely never scoop. After the novelty wore off, we realized how much mental load it removes. No daily scooping, no litter box guilt when you come home late. Empty the drawer every 7-10 days, that’s it.

Odor control is excellent. The sealed drawer contains smell far better than any covered box we’ve used. Guests couldn’t tell we had cats. The carbon filter does real work here.

Health tracking caught an issue. The app flagged that one of our cats was using the box significantly more frequently over a 3-day period. A vet visit confirmed a minor UTI. Without the data, we wouldn’t have noticed for days.

It’s quieter than previous versions. The LR3 sounded like a garbage disposal. The LR4 is a gentle hum that doesn’t spook either of our cats.

What Could Be Better

$699 is a LOT. There’s no way around it. You can buy 5+ years of regular litter boxes for this price. You need to really hate scooping (or have multiple cats) to justify it.

It’s huge. At 29 inches tall and 25 inches wide, it dominates any room it’s in. If you live in a small apartment, measure twice before buying.

Litter type matters. It only works well with clumping clay litter. If you use crystal, pine, or paper litter, this isn’t for you.

The app has occasional disconnects. About once a week, we’d get a “device offline” notification that resolved itself within an hour. Minor, but annoying for a $700 product.
